Atheros
Communications is a leading developer of semiconductor system

WLAN Networking
– Atheros AR9280/81, AR9220/23, AR9001, AR5008, AR5007, AR5006,
AR5005 and AR5004 families of WLAN chips feature breakthrough 802.11
wireless networking technologies. When incorporated into WLAN
devices, Atheros chipsets offer higher performance, extended
coverage, longer battery life and advanced features to enhance the
user experience.
Atheros XSPAN® and XSPAN with Signal-Sustain Technology™ (SST)
provide the highest performance WLAN. solutions to date. XSPAN’s
AR5008, AR9001, AR9220 and AR9223 802.11n draft solutions deliver
the ultimate wireless networking performance for triple-play with
video, voice and data transmissions throughout the home and office.
Atheros’ AR9280 and AR9281 feature the industry’s most integrated,
single-chip 802.11n solutions optimized for PCIe. Atheros XSPAN
802.11n chips offer a superior wireless experience by delivering
physical data rates up to 300 megabits-per-second (Mbps), providing
six times the throughput and up to ten times the range of legacy
802.11g and 802.11a/g networks.
Mobile WLAN – Atheros’ innovative ROCm® Radio-on-Chip for
Mobile platforms for WLAN feature the new AR6002 solutions,
available in industry-leading, small form factors for consumer
products such as dual-mode cellular phones, VoIP handsets, portable
media players, digital still/video cameras and gaming devices. The
AR6002 solutions deliver extraordinarily low battery impact with the
industry’s lowest-power active mode, and near-zero power consumption
in standby.
Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet – Atheros provides its
extensive customer base of PC OEMs and networking equipment
customers with its family of Atheros ETHOS™ Ethernet solutions. This
growing portfolio features both Gigabit and Fast Ethernet options
for switch, controller and PHY products. The ETHOS high-performance,
low-power solutions bring the engineering capabilities Atheros has
built in the wireless market now to the Ethernet market, to deliver
superior user experiences with PC and networking products for the
home and SMB.
GPS – Atheros offers highly-integrated GPS single-chip
receivers, featuring the uN3010, in combination with its
high-performance ORION™ software to enable a growing array of
location-based mobile devices including PNDs, mobile handsets, PMPs,
PCs and personal mobile products.
Bluetooth – Atheros’ ROCm portfolio for Bluetooth now
features both the Atheros AR3011 for PCs and AR3031 for mono
headsets, and supports the latest enhancements of the Bluetooth
version 2.1 + EDR specification. The AR3011 is the industry’s only
Bluetooth solution optimized for PCs with significant advantages in
size, integration and cost. The AR3031 has been architected for mono
headset applications, delivering unmatched power performance and
flexibility to designers looking to easily enable feature
customization.
PAS – Atheros’ single-chip AR1910 is a highly integrated,
complete handset solution built specifically to deliver low-cost,
high-performance solutions for the Personal Access System (PAS)
cellular market in China. The AR1910’s enhanced features, compact
size and power-savings technology, are designed to enable
manufacturers to develop extremely thin, cost-effective PAS
handsets. |
