Atheros AR9000, AR5008, AR5007, AR5006, AR5005 and AR5004 families
of WLAN chips feature breakthrough 802.11 wireless networking
technologies. When incorporated into WLAN devices, Atheros chipsets
offer higher performance, extended coverage, longer battery life and
advanced features to enhance the user experience.
Atheros XSPAN® and XSPAN with Signal Sustain Technology (SST), based
on the IEEE draft 11n multi-stream specification, provide the
highest performance WLAN solutions on the market. XSPAN’s AR5008,
AR9001, AR9002, AR9220 and AR9223 802.11n draft solutions deliver
the ultimate advanced multimedia networking performance for
triple-play with video, voice and data transmissions throughout the
home and office. Atheros’ AR9280 and AR9281 feature the industry’s
most integrated, single-chip 802.11n solutions optimized for PCIe,
and the AR9002AP, supporting the highest performance dual-band
AP/router solutions. Atheros XSPAN 802.11n chips offer a superior
wireless experience by delivering physical data rates up to 300
megabits-per-second (Mbps), providing six times the throughput and
more than two times the range of legacy 802.11g and 802.11a/g
networks.
Atheros Align™ offers a comprehensive portfolio of wireless LAN
(WLAN) solutions based on the IEEE draft 802.11n 1-stream
specification. With up to 150 Mbps PHY rates, Align solutions
deliver 5 times the actual throughput and double the coverage of
legacy 11g. Featuring the AP9002AP-1S for retail AP/routers, the
AR9285 single-chip PCIe for PCs, and the AR9271 embedded USB for
carrier/ gateways and consumer electronics, Align solutions are
forward compatible to higher-performance, multi-stream, MIMO-based
802.11n – providing the optimal upgrade path for value-class WLAN
products.
Mobile WLAN – Atheros’ innovative ROCm® Radio-on-Chip for
Mobile platforms for WLAN feature the AR6002 solutions, available in
industry-leading, small form factors for consumer products such as
dual-mode cellular phones, gaming devices, VoIP handsets, portable
media players and digital still/video cameras. The AR6002
solutions deliver extraordinarily low battery impact with the
industry’s lowest-power active mode, and near-zero power consumption
in standby.
