
Dr. Craig H. Barratt, President and Chief Executive Officer
Craig H. Barratt has served as president and chief executive officer of Atheros since March 2003, and as a director on the company’s Board since May 2003. Dr. Barratt had previously served as Atheros’ vice president of technology from April 2002 until March 2003. Prior to joining Atheros, Dr. Barratt worked with ArrayComm, Inc., a company specializing in multi-antenna signal processing. From September 1992 to March 2002, he held a number of positions with ArrayComm, including executive vice president and general manager. Dr. Barratt holds Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and Bachelor of Science degrees in pure mathematics and physics from Sydney University in Australia. During his professional career, Dr. Barratt has earned 23 patents in a variety of wireless and related technologies.

Jack R. Lazar, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development
Jack R. Lazar has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since September 2003 and as our Secretary since November 2003. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Lazar was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of NetRatings,Inc., a publicly traded Internet audience measurement and analysis company. Prior to joining NetRatings, from January 1996 to August 1999, Mr. Lazar was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apptitude, Inc. (formerly Technically Elite, Inc. and acquired by hi/fn, inc. 2000), a developer and manufacturer of network management solutions. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Lazar served in various executive positions at Electronics for Imaging and prior to this he was employed by Price Waterhouse in San Jose, CA. Mr. Lazar is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce with an emphasis in accounting from Santa Clara University.
Todd D. Antes, Vice President of Marketing, Powerline
Todd D. Antes has served as our Vice President of Marketing, Powerline since January 2010. Mr. Antes previously served as Atheros' Vice President of Computing and Consumer Networking from October 2008 to January 2010 as well as Atheros' Vice President of Marketing from July 2005 to October 2008. Prior to joining Atheros, from September 2002 to July 2005, Mr. Antes was director of marketing and business development at Philips Semiconductors, responsible for the company’s wireless and wired connectivity products. From April 2000 to July 2002, Mr. Antes was a founder and Senior Vice President of Marketing for AirPrime, Inc. (acquired by Sierra Wireless in 2003), a start up venture focused on 3G/cellular data products. From April 1993 to April 2000, Mr. Antes held various senior marketing and product line general management roles at Philips, including director of marketing for the company's global cellular chipset business. Mr. Antes holds Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees from Santa Clara University.

Reynette Au, Vice President of Marketing and Alliances
Reynette Au has served as our vice president of marketing and alliances since November 2008, in her role of leading Atheros’ corporate strategy and marketing, and building the company’s corporate alliances. Ms. Au brings over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Atheros, she served as vice president and general manager of the Portable Navigation Products group at NVIDIA from 2006, and as vice president of the company’s Business Licensing program from 2005. Ms. Au was also served as vice president of worldwide marketing for ARM, Inc., where she helped build its network of licensees for the company’s core processor technology and established ARM’s market position as ‘The Architecture for the Digital World.’ Ms. Au earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Denver.

Richard G. Bahr, Vice President of Engineering
Richard G. Bahr has served as our Vice President of Engineering since February 2000. Prior to joining us, from July 1991 to February 2000, Mr. Bahr was the Vice President of Engineering for Silicon Graphics, Inc., a computing, visualization and storage company. Mr. Bahr holds Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

George Chu, Vice President and General Manager Ethernet
George Chu has served as vice president of Ethernet since November 2008. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Chu served as senior vice president, China operations, for Conexant. Previously, he held senior management roles at Broadcom, including general manager of the China Design Center and senior director and general manager of Small Medium Business and Security for the U.S. and Taiwan. Mr. Chu earned a Master of Science degree in computer engineering from Boston University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rochester.

Hing Chu, Vice President of Operations
Hing Chu has served as Atheros’ vice president of operations since 2009. Mr. Chu has over 30 years of experience in engineering and operations functions with leading technology companies. Hing has been with Atheros since 2001, providing operations leadership as the senior director of engineering, operations to 2006 and vice president of engineering, operations through 2008. Prior to Atheros, Mr. Chu has served in a variety of engineering management roles at NEC Electronics, Silicon Systems and Texas Instruments. He holds Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees from Columbia University.

Amir Faintuch, Vice President and General Manager, Mobile
Amir Faintuch has served as Vice President and General Manager of Mobile since September 2008. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Faintuch served as business, marketing and product management director for the Mobile Connectivity Solutions division of Texas Instruments (TI). Prior to joining TI, he held various senior management roles including general management, operations, finance and strategic business development at global technology companies in the telephony communications, software and HR services markets. Faintuch earned a dual Master’s degree in management with an emphasis in high technology from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Tel-Aviv University’s Recanati School of Management. He also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in economics and business management from Haifa University in Israel.

Edward L. Martin, Vice President of Professional Development
Edward Martin has served as our Vice President of Professional Development since July 2008. In this role, he is responsible for the development of our people and organizations as well as employee communications. Mr. Martin previously served as our Vice President of Global Human Resources between August 2006 and June 2008. Prior to joining Atheros, Ed was Director, Global Learning at Xilinx and prior to Xilinx was VP of Human Resources at Pixar Animation Studios for six years. Prior to Pixar Ed’s roles have included international human resource roles at leading Silicon Valley firms such as Tandem Computers, Intuit and Silicon Graphics. He has a degree Business Administration from San Jose State University and in 2006 produced a business DVD on human resources called "At the Table: a menu of senior perspectives on today's HR" which is now in distribution. He also gives talks on corporate culture to human resource professionals, small business owners and large company CEO's at conferences.

William J. McFarland , Chief Technical Officer
Bill J. McFarland has served as our Chief Technology Officer since October 2004. Until October 2004 Mr. McFarland served as our Director of Algorithms and Architecture. In this role, he led a team developing digital signal processing algorithms, defined radio and digital architectures, and represented Atheros in regulatory and standardization efforts. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. McFarland spent 14 years at Hewlett-Packard Labs leading research on mixed-signal ASICs. During his last six years at HP, he directed the wireless-circuit research effort. In this role, he managed a team that developed one of the world's first CMOS integrated radios. Mr. McFarland has an M.S.E.E. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S.E.E. from Stanford University.

Charles Marker, Vice President of Software Engineering
Charles Marker has served as vice president of software engineering since May 2008. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Marker co-founded BDNA Corporation, a leading solution provider of IT infrastructure insight and analysis, serving as vice president of engineering, where he led all engineering development functions. From 1999 to 2001, he was vice president of engineering at Geocast Network Systems, responsible for all client software, broadcast infrastructure and business systems development. Between 1992 and 1999, Mr. Marker held senior management roles at SGI, including director of engineering, responsible for implementing the company’s Linux strategy along with directing development efforts for system and application software across various product lines. He began his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and has held development and project lead roles at MIPS Computer Systems. Mr. Marker has a Bachelor of .Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ben Naskar, Vice President and General Manager, Networking
Ben Naskar has served as vice president and general manager of Networking since June 2007. Prior to joining Atheros, Naskar was vice president and general manager of PMC Sierra’s Communications Products Division, where he oversaw four lines of business: customer premises equipment (CPE), wireline, wireless and optical fiber. Prior to PMC, Naskar was chief executive officer and president of Magfusion, a private company focused on RF MEMS. Prior to that Naskar was with Analog Devices, as vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, where he helped grow revenues from $55 million to $650 million within six years. Previously Naskar was group director of the Computing and Communications Division for National Semiconductor and he also held senior management positions at Advanced Micro Devices. Naskar holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Computer Science, from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He has also done post graduate work in electrical engineering at University of Santa Clara.

Aman Singla, Vice President of Engineering
Aman Singla is the Vice President of Engineering for Mobile. Singla joined the company in 2000 as Senior Engineer, and was later promoted to Managing Director of Software Engineering, where he was responsible for leading the development of Atheros’ first USB-based client device with an embedded CPU, as well as Atheros’ first product targeted at the mobile WLAN and VoIP markets. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Singla was a member of the technical staff at Silicon Graphics, Inc. in the company’s High Performance Networking group. Singla holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Dr. David Su, Vice President Analog Engineering
Dr. David Su has served as our Vice President of Analog Engineering since February 2006. Dr. Su joined Atheros in February 1999 to head the analog engineering team. Atheros’ world-class analog engineering team has achieved numerous industry firsts and innovations through its widely acclaimed RF CMOS design expertise. Prior to Atheros, Dr. Su worked on RF CMOS design for HP. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Su was named IEEE Fellow in 2006.

Gary L. Szilagyi, Vice President Worldwide Sales
Gary L. Szilagyi has served as Atheros’ Vice President of Worldwide Sales since January 2006. Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Szilagyi served as the vice president of worldwide sales at Greenfield Networks, semiconductor startup focused on delivering advanced Ethernet switching and routing solutions for the Metro-Ethernet and Access markets. Prior to Greenfield Networks, Mr. Szilagyi served as the vice president of sales at Marvell Semiconductor’s Communications Business Unit, where he led the sales initiative and design-win activity for all communications products, including WLAN business. Mr. Szilagyi has also led sales organizations at Galileo Technology and Integrated Devices Technology. Mr. Szilagyi has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from San Jose State University.

Adam H. Tachner, Vice President and General Counsel
Adam H. Tachner has served as our Vice President and General Counsel since August 2003.From October 2000 until August 2003, Mr. Tachner was our Intellectual Property Counsel. Prior to joining us, from September 1994 to September 2000, Mr. Tachner was an associate attorney with Crosby, Heafy, Roach & May, P.C., a law firm. Mr. Tachner holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from California State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science from the University of California at Berkeley.

David D. Torre, Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
Dave Torre was formerly controller at CellNet Data Systems, a provider of wireless data networks. Prior to CellNet, he spent seven years in various roles at Space Systems/Loral, a satellite manufacturer, as accounting manager and corporate finance manager. Torre is a CPA and was formerly an audit manager with Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Jason Zheng, Vice President Asia Pacific
Dr. Jason Zheng has served as Vice President of Asia Pacific since re-joining Atheros in 2009. In 2008, Dr. Zheng was a General Manager for a venture-backed company. Atheros’ first Director of Systems Engineering since 1999, Dr. Zheng became Vice President of Systems Engineering in 2004 and expanded his role to VP of Asia Pacific in 2005. Prior to joining Atheros, he was the Director of Systems Engineering at ATI Research (formerly Chromatic Research), a graphics and multimedia subsidiary of ATI Technologies, and was previously with Hewlett-Packard. Dr. Zheng holds a Ph.D. in electrical and biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University of China.
