WLAN
Qualcomm Atheros mobile WLAN solutions provide tablets with high-speed, yet low-power connectivity to the Internet and other Wi-Fi-enabled peer devices. To meet the design requirements for sleek and light-weight tablet designs, our mobile WLAN solutions are extraordinarily compact in size and enable easy integration. With the lightweight, mobile nature of tablet computing, great connectivity to content and communications is a foremost consideration in delivering the ideal consumer experience.
Mobile WLAN for portable consumer electronics offers design and performance flexibility
- 1-stream 11n, single-band 2.4GHz, with up to 48 actual Mbps in 20 MHz mode
- 1-stream 11n, dual-band 2.4/5GHz with up to 85 Mbps in 5GHz/40 MHz mode
- 802.11g and 802.11a/g, featuring up to 22 Mbps of actual throughput
Game-changing power efficiency
Extending the battery charge of the tablet is an essential part of a great user experience. Qualcomm Atheros’ mobile Wi-Fi offers the lowest power consumption in the industry, removing barriers to integrating Wi-Fi into tablet computers. With four generations of market-proven products, Qualcomm Atheros mobile for Wi-Fi has set industry records for power efficiency, including the AR6003, which provides 1-stream 11n performance, yet draws the least power of any Qualcomm Atheros design to date. AP Mode Functionality for Consumer Electronics
Qualcomm Atheros' latest 802.11n solutions use Wi-Fi Display to liberate videos, photos, presentations and web content from tablets onto larger screens. Based on the industry's Wi-Fi Direct peer-to-peer standard, Wi-Fi Display enables simple and secure connections directly between tablets, TVs and other Wi-Fi devices – instead of connecting through a router or access point.
Design flexibility
Qualcomm Atheros offers a wide array of Wi-Fi configurations for tablets, including our AR6002 and AR6102 for legacy WLAN and our new-generation 11n-based AR6003 and AR6103 in single-band and dual-band options.
