Bluetooth

Qualcomm Atheros’ Bluetooth portfolio includes a variety of standalone and combination solutions for tablets, including Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed products. Our Bluetooth solutions provide high-performance connectivity to sync and share files between tablets, computers and mobile handsets. We also make tablets easier to use with simple connections to peripherals such as wireless headsets, keyboards, and mice.

Ultra Low Power

The AR3001, AR3002 and AR3012 Bluetooth solutions feature an advanced architecture and other techniques to save power during sleep, stand-by and active states, extending the battery life of tablet computers.

Design efficiency and flexibility

Qualcomm Atheros offers a variety of Bluetooth configurations and options to ease the design process. The AR3001 and AR3002 are aimed at SDIO-based tablets, while the AR3012 can be used for PCIe-based models. Both products support the standard UART HCI interface, making it compatible with any upper layer Bluetooth stack. Qualcomm Atheros’ Bluetooth architecture also features both hosted and un-hosted design options, and is designed to require fewer than 12 passive components, thus enabling the lowest system bill-of-materials cost for tablet applications.

Wireless Coexistence

Qualcomm Atheros’ Bluetooth family supports Universal Wireless Cooperation™ to ensure coexistence between co-located Bluetooth and WLAN radios. The solution offers 2-, 3- and 4-wire Bluetooth coexistence protocols with advanced algorithms for predicting channel usage by the co-located WLAN transceiver in the same system.
