Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHR), a leading developer of advanced wireless
LAN (WLAN) chipsets, today announced that Dr. Teresa H. Meng, founder and a
member of the board of directors of Atheros Communications, was named one of the
DEMO@15! Innovator Award winners. The event organizers recognized the top 15
innovators who have defined the best technologies and products over the last 15
years at a special DEMO anniversary celebration dinner on Tuesday, February 15.
“Teresa has been a key
contributor to the development of high-performance wireless technologies,” said
Chris Shipley, DEMO executive producer. “The success and proliferation of Wi-Fi

history. The company introduced the world’s first 802.11a chipset in 2001, the
first dual-band 802.11a/b chipsets in 2002 and 802.11a/b/g chipsets in 2003. In
2004, it also rolled out the industry’s first single-chip 802.11g and
802.11a/b/g solutions for client devices, as well as a single-chip 802.11g
Access Point (AP) device.
“I’m truly honored to
accept this DEMO@15! Award,” said Teresa Meng. “Wireless technology will
continue to change the way people communicate and the way they use information.
Atheros is leading the way with cost-effective and high performance solutions
that deliver a better wireless user experience.”
