Atheros Names Jack Lazar Chief
Financial Officer
SUNNYVALE,
Calif., Sept. 30, 2003—Atheros Communications, a leading developer of
advanced multimode wireless LAN chipsets, today announced that Jack Lazar has
joined the company as vice president & chief financial officer. Mr. Lazar will
be responsible for all areas of financial accounting and reporting, investor
relations, human resources and information technology within the company. He
contributes a strong base of knowledge and experience in addition to
well-demonstrated financial leadership as the company continues to rapidly
expand its business.

Prior to joining Atheros, Mr. Lazar served as executive vice president of corporate development
and chief financial officer and secretary of NetRatings (NASDAQ: NTRT), the
global standard for Internet audience measurement and analysis, where he led the
company through a successful initial public offering and a series of strategic
acquisitions and partnerships. Previously he was vice president, CFO and
secretary of Apptitude, a developer and manufacturer of network management
solutions, which was acquired by Hifn (NASDAQ: HIFN) in 2000. Prior to Appitude,
he served as controller and principal financial and accounting officer for
Electronics for Imaging (NASDAQ: EFII), a developer of color servers and color
management software. Mr. Lazar began his career in corporate finance as an
auditor with Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (formerly Price Waterhouse) in 1987.
