ORLANDO, FL., March 17, 2002 - The winners of the Second Annual
MobileFocus awards were announced today just prior to the MobileFocus 2002
press event at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Florida. MobileFocus @
Orlando is one of three MobileFocus events during the year, and is hosted by
Pepcom, the World Leader in Technology Showcase Events. The MobileFocus Awards honor the most outstanding products and services in
the mobile computing and wireless arenas in 14 different categories.
Products honored ranged from the best portable PCs, PDAs and best wireless
phone to best mobile software and best messaging device. "Mobile and
wireless technology are now an accepted part of the fabric of our lives,"
said Chris O'Malley, one of the founding partners of Pepcom. "The
MobileFocus Awards honor the products during the last year that are the best
in these important areas."
Added Jon Pepper, Pepcom's other founding partner: "MobileFocus is known as
the number one press showcase event for mobile and wireless, and the
MobileFocus awards are now recognized as a prestigious extension of the
showcase event."
The MobileFocus showcase events are held on the evenings before
CTIA, PC Expo and Fall Comdex, and is the Official Media Event of Fall Comdex. The
events typically host dozens of the leading mobile and wireless firms, and
hundreds of key press and analysts. The Second Annual MobileFocus Awards
were distributed in a brief ceremony just prior to the 7 p.m. opening of the
press showcase event.
"The MobileFocus Awards now join the enormous success of our Excellence in
Imaging Awards for digital imaging, and both awards have become highly
sought after and very well-received," said Pepcom's Jon Pepper.
All mobile products introduced in the twelve months ending in March 2002
were eligible for consideration.
