SENAO’s SL-5054 series with Atheros chipsets kicks off the 54Mbps wireless local area network trend in Taiwan

SENAO’s new WLAN products available to Taiwan consumers and enterprises include:

-       SL-5054CB Pisces – dual-mode wireless CardBus adapter using the Atheros AR5001X combo 802.11a/b wireless LAN chipset

-        SL-5054CB Aries – 802.11a WLAN CardBus card using the Atheros AR5001A second-generation 802.11a chipset

-       SL-5054AP Aries – 802.11a WLAN access point using the Atheros AR5001AP integrated enterprise-quality access point chipset.

Atheros’ WLAN chipsets give SENAO’s products the following advantages:

1.              Higher speeds – Atheros 802.11a chipsets provide high-speed data rates up to 54Mbps in standard mode and 108Mbps in “Turbo” Mode.

2.             More spectrum and resistance to interference – Atheros chipsets support up to 11 separate channels in the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz unlicensed frequencies available in Taiwan, avoiding interference with other access points in the area and providing scalability for large deployments.

3.             Enterprise-class security – Atheros chipsets feature a comprehensive security solution covering four key areas: AES encryption, 802.1x authentication, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Virtual LANs (VLANs).
