Atheros
Communications Announces Three Vice President Appointments
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 24, 2006—Atheros Communications,
Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHR), a leading developer of advanced wireless solutions,
today announced three strategic appointments. They include David Torre
to vice president and chief accounting officer, David Su to vice
president of analog engineering and Ali Hariri to vice president of
business development. These new appointments will promote Atheros’
growing leadership in the wireless LAN (WLAN) market and expanding force
in new markets.

milestone in Atheros’ strong growth and momentum,” said Craig Barratt,
president and chief executive officer of Atheros Communications.

acknowledging these individuals’ contributions and expressing our
confidence in their expertise and leadership to take Atheros to the next

David Torre is appointed to chief accounting officer. Mr. Torre joined
Atheros in January 2000 as vice president, administration and
controller. In April 2004, he was appointed to vice president, finance
and administration. Prior to Atheros, Mr. Torre was employed by CellNet
Data Systems, a provider of wireless data networks, Space Systems/Loral
and Ernst & Young. He is a certified public accountant and holds
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from the
University of California at Berkeley.
David Su is appointed to vice president of analog engineering. Dr. Su
joined Atheros in February 1999 to head the analog engineering team.
Atheros’ world-class analog engineering team has achieved numerous
industry firsts and innovations through its widely acclaimed RF CMOS
design expertise. Prior to Atheros, Dr. Su worked on RF CMOS design for
HP. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Tennessee, and earned a Ph.D. in Electrical
Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Su was named IEEE Fellow in
2006.
Ali Hariri is appointed to vice president of business development. Mr.
Hariri joined Atheros in April 2005 as senior director of business
development. Prior to Atheros, Mr. Hariri held various marketing and
business development positions in Broadcom Corp.’s Wireless Connectivity
Group and operations roles at S3, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in System Engineering from
the University of Connecticut.
