Where we’ve come from

Atheros is the recognized worldwide technology leader of the wireless systems market.  It all began with Atheros founding the use of 5GHz back in 1998 and introducing the first dual-band 2.4/5GHz products shortly thereafter. Over the past year, Atheros has led, the innovation curve for the new generation 802.11n with our market-leading XSPAN® . In addition to our accomplishments in WLAN, we launched the industry’s first single-chip cellular solution for the PAS market in 2005 and the industry’s only wireless network processors in 2006.
